“Back to school” is the slogan used by most department stores at this time to tempt people to buy new equipment for the upcoming academic year. Funnily enough, in my case, the slogan is literally true; in September, I go back to University. It is the end of the summer holidays and the beginning of a new academic course.
Last summer, I had the opportunity to visit different places, some of which were close to my city and others which were farther away from it. They were very different from each other. However, all of them had one thing in common. They allowed me to experience a variety of feelings and to enjoy different sights as well as trying new dishes.
It is quite likely that all of these adventures will give me ideas about what to write in my posts over the coming weeks. Hence, you will have the chance to get to know about the flea markets visited, souvenirs bought, castles explored, rivers sailed, glorious sunsets enjoyed, monasteries and pagodas visited… and finally, the sensational experiences. My own point of view will run through every story shared in this blog.
In any case, as it has been pointed out above, it is time not only to remember the past with a tinge of nostalgia, but also to look forward and plan for the new academic course. For most people, January is the chosen date for making a list of New Year´s resolutions; nevertheless, I am sure that September is also a good time to implement a change in our habits and routines. Small or radical changes of behaviour take time to become a habit and require commitment as well as perseverance; but, in my opinion, above all it is necessary to be sure in your convictions. Apart from creating a new schedule, this academic course also brings some challenges, although there will be time to tell you about them later.
All in all, this is the kick-off for a new academic course, and as it has happened over the last three years. I will try to publish something every week and share with readers the experiences of the last summer and the new academic challenges too. Hope you enjoy them and participate by writing your comments. Looking forward to writing the next post.
